Frequently Asked Questions

Vacuum forming is a thermoforming process that softens a plastic sheet by heating it, then uses vacuum suction to press it against a mold surface. After cooling, it forms a three-dimensional part with a specific shape.

It is ideal for producing housings, trays, interior parts, advertising signage, medical device housings, electronic product packaging, and various custom plastic parts requiring lightweight, hollow, or complex curved surfaces.

Advantages include low mold costs, short development cycles, making it particularly suitable for small to medium batch production; the ability to achieve complex three-dimensional shapes and surface textures; a wide range of material choices; and lightweight, high-strength parts.

We offer a variety of engineering plastic sheets, including ABS, acrylic (PMMA), PC, PP, HIPS, PVC, PET, HDPE, etc., and can recommend the best material based on the product’s strength, transparency, weather resistance, or food safety requirements.

The standard process is: Requirements Communication → Design and Feasibility Analysis → Mold Making → Material Selection and Confirmation → Trial Production and Sample Verification → Mass Production → Quality Inspection and Delivery.

Simple plaster or resin molds can usually be completed in a few days at a lower cost; durable molds such as aluminum molds take 1-3 weeks and are more expensive. The specific cost depends on the size and complexity of the part. We will provide the most economical solution after evaluation.

Key points include: maintaining uniform wall thickness; designing sufficient draft angle for demolding; avoiding excessive stretching or sharp corners; rounded corners help improve molding and strength.

Our equipment capabilities will be specified (e.g., maximum molding area 1300mm x 1800mm). Please provide your product dimensions during the consultation, and we will confirm the production capacity.

In addition to a wide selection of sheet materials in various colors and textures, we also offer a full range of post-processing services, including cutting, drilling, screen printing, painting, ultrasonic welding, and assembly, delivering complete components.

We implement comprehensive quality control: from raw material inspection and first article inspection (FAI) to random checks during production, ensuring that dimensions, appearance, and function meet your drawings and specifications.

Due to the cost advantages of molds, vacuum forming is particularly suitable for small to medium batches. The MOQ is relatively flexible, typically starting from 50-100 pieces, depending on the parts and mold design.

Please provide 2D/3D drawings of the product, desired materials, color/surface requirements, and estimated annual demand. This information will help us quickly assess and provide you with an accurate quote and production lead time.
