Hips Thick Plate Vacuum Forming

We make sturdy, good-looking HIPS parts that don’t feel “cheap” in the hand—like the reinforced open-frame panel shown, with molded ribs that add strength without turning the part into a brick. HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) is a practical, cost-friendly plastic that forms easily, holds a clean surface, and performs well in real-world use. That’s why it shows up in machine covers, appliance panels, display and furniture components, medical device housings, and protective guards.

How It’s Formed, and Why It Matters

Thick-sheet thermoforming is all about control: we heat the HIPS plate to a stable forming window, then vacuum-draw it over a precision mold. Done right, you get smooth radii, consistent wall sections, and built-in structure—ribs, flanges, bosses—without extra parts or complicated assemblies. Compared with thin-gauge forming, thick plate vacuum forming gives noticeably better rigidity and impact resistance. And compared with injection molding, it keeps tooling investment more reasonable for larger parts or medium production volumes.

Built to Match Your Design and Assembly

Your part shouldn’t have to “fit the process”—the process should fit your part. We support custom sheet thickness, color matching, surface textures, and the finishing work that makes parts truly production-ready: CNC trimming, drilling, bonding, and insert installation. Whether you need one component or a matched set, we focus on clean edges, repeatable dimensions, and an overall fit that makes assembly easy instead of frustrating.

From Prototype to Production, with Steady Quality

We treat consistency as the real product. That means material traceability, controlled forming parameters, and inspection of the dimensions and surfaces that actually affect assembly and appearance. If you share a drawing, 3D file, or a sample, we’ll help you fine-tune draft angles, rib layout, and trim lines so the part comes out stronger, cleaner, and easier to manufacture. HIPS is also friendly for post-work: it machines well, takes paint and screen printing, and can be laminated or padded if the surface will be touched by users. If scuffing during transport is a concern, we can also use co-extruded sheets or protective films to keep the finish looking fresh.

Typical Parts We Make, and How We Ship Them

Common builds include access panels, machine enclosures, bed or cart components, interior liners, and lightweight structural covers. Every order is packed to protect the surface and prevent deformation in transit—because a part that arrives scratched or warped isn’t a finished part.
